ally the jaws became locked up completely, and he could take nourishment with difficulty. The ordinary run of medicines proving ineffectual, I tried hypodermic injections of eserine sulphas in grain doses. The effect was marvellous; for after two or three injections the tonic spasmodic condition of the body became less marked, the intervals between the clonic spasms increased, and the stiffness of the jaws lessened considerably. Within a week from the commencement of the injections the spasms had completely disappeared and the mouth could be opened to its full extent.
